Elite Survival gives young people the chance for your children to turn those dreams into reality – to break out from the routine of everyday school life. To gain an experience that will make them the envy of their friends back home.

We’ve put together a carefully structured adventure experience – one designed for young people to explore one of the remotest unspoilt areas of the planet. We call this expedition –

The Spirit of Borneo

When the young people join us on this expedition, this is what they can expect –

Day 1 – a visit to two unforgettable wildlife centres – the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre and either the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre or the fascinating Rainforest Discovery Centre with its fine canopy walkway.

Days 2 & 3 – Stay at the inspiring Kinabatangan River Lodge. Enjoy river cruises. Observe the stunning fauna and flora that line this dramatic river.  If they’re really lucky, they might get to see the rare Borneo Pygmy elephant.

Days 4 & 5 – Poring Hot Springs.  Here the group will split into two. One will visit the Poring Hot Springs where they will spend the night in the Park Hostel. Time allowing, they’ll visit the Butterfly Garden. Group Two will trek to the magical Lupa Masa jungle camp, where they will spend the night in tents on raised platforms.

After dinner each evening there will be an optional night walk for each group.

Day 6 & 7 – Visit the Kudat Turtle Conservation Society (KTCS). Learn about life in a traditional Rungus tribal village. The beach is great for swimming and snorkelling.

Day 8 – Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah.  A city tour and a visit to the night markets.

Who is this Expedition for?

The Borneo Expedition for Schools is open to young people aged 14 -17 of all abilities. Some activities will be easy to handle. Others will be more of a challenge. By the end of the trip, you’ll enjoy a feeling like no other – the sense of achievement, personal gain and adrenaline will be second to none. Some days you will feel the heady rush of adrenaline. On others, you’ll feel almost overwhelmed, as you complete an activity as a team – you just won’t be able to stop smiling!
